We would like to introduce Alex, from our amazing TESS Connect team. Alex is one of our fabulous Key Workers here at Lifetime Connect. What is a Key Worker? Our Key Workers work with children aged 0-6 years to promote and optimise their learning and development to ensure full and active participation in family and community life. The Key Worker is the main point of contact for the family, acting as a central resource and go-to person for information, support, and guidance. They work in partnership with parents/carers and other members of a child’s family, as well through a transdisciplinary approach, working closely with all other adults involved in a child’s life (e.g. paediatrician, kindergarten and/or childcare staff, therapists, external stakeholders, etc.). Key Workers implement service provision under the National Guidelines on Best Practice for Early Childhood Intervention Services, Child Safe Standards and relevant NDIS guidelines. Key Workers can support with the following:

  • Supporting families with goal setting
  •  Evaluating your child’s development
  • Working within the centre, or within your child’s natural environments (e.g. home, school, preschool) to support their learning and engagement in everyday activities and environments
  • Working with the family, empowering them with knowledge, skills, and resources to support their child’s development at home and in the community.
  • Advocating for the child’s needs and providing ongoing support to the family, helping them navigate the system and access necessary resources.
  • Maintaining regular communication with the family, providing updates on the child’s progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Coordinating the reporting requirements for plan reviews, ensuring that the child’s progress is accurately documented and that the plan remains relevant and effective.
